I consider each object I paint as metaphor for different aspects of the human struggle. I primarily paint to calm my mind, it is an act of meditation. My work focuses on the celebration of the mundane, elevating ordinary overlooked objects. I consider each object I paint as metaphor for different aspects of the human struggle. My series of light switches is an exploration of our failure to appreciate the impact electricity has on our individual lives and the environment. The switches are also a spiritual metaphor referencing the parable of the Lamp and the bushel basket.
