Alice-Gervais was born in Miami, Fla. and raised in NYC and WV; She Finished High school in Clarksburg. Afterwards, she attended classes with WV Artist Beth Crowder, then went on to attend the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 1983 and transferred to the Art Institute of Ft Lauderdale in 1985. Due to family obligations, she moved to St. Petersburg and attended Pinellas County Community College studying commercial and fine art. While in Florida, she began working as a grade school Art Teacher in St. Petersburg, then on to a private grade school in Ashville, NC. \u00a0Once back in West Virginia she attended master oil painting classes at Glenville State College and held a two-man show at the Clarksburg Library and since, a one-man show at the Elkins Community Art Center.\u00a0 Alice-Gervais has worked as an artist and teacher for over 38 years, and has worked as a freelance sign painter, logo designer and brochure artist. Many of her independent pieces are in private collections and been published in magazines, such as the Galactic Crossroads and Easy riders. Alice-Gervais illustrated \u201cThe Pioneer index of Randolph County\u201d with 24 pen and Ink drawings of places of interest in the Randolph County area. In 1996, she won best of show in the Clarksburg\u2019s WV Days\u00a0\u00a0 at which time she began working for Arts Bank in Randolph Co., bringing art instruction to local grade schools. Throughout her career, she has consistently worked as a commission artist and given private instruction in Pen and Ink, paper Mache and acrylic painting. \u00a0 Recently, she`s exploring photography, with a piece published in WV\u2019s Art Works. \u00a0Alice is a member of \u201cArtists at Work\u201d located in Elkins, WV; The Infamous Art Collective a monthly Themed project Gallery, located in Buckhannon, WV. and the Fairmont Art and Antiques Marketplace , in Fairmont , WV. Currently, she is working on commissions and creating art for the galleries she is involved in.
